Foote Rumsey Game

As the Foote School team warmed up for their upcoming game against Rumsey hall, the memory of last year’s 11 to 0 loss played in their minds. Noticing the anxiety, co-coach Mr. McGuire prepared his team, “There’s nothing different about this game, don’t get nervous, and just go play the game.” This game was not just a chance to take revenge from last year, but a chance to defeat the only other undefeated team in the league. “If we win this game, we should go undefeated.” Said co-captain of the game Richard, “We lost by a lot last year, but we are better this year and we have the ability to win.”
At 3:45 as the two teams stood in a huddle, 2 words rang out over field, “Go Foote!” and the teams took the field. After several passes and a few runs up and down the field, a Rumsey player attempted to make a shot, but was blocked by goalie Jess. After a few goal attempts by Foote, Jess saved two more near goals. Then 15 minutes into the first half, a Rumsey player scored a goal, and the score was 1:0 Rumsey. Within the next 10 minutes, Jess would save another 4 goals, one of which he dove and caught in the air. Five minutes later, Richard made an amazing shot over all of the Rumsey Players to make the score 1:1. Within the next five minutes Jess would make another save. Then it was half time. Five minutes later the second half began and within the first 10 minutes, after a pass from Ian, Max made a goal, making the score 2:1 Foote. Five minutes later Richard crosses the ball to Max who hits the ball up in the air, which Sam kicked in the goal, making the score 3:1. After several head shots and a lot of passing, Sam scored another goal. The Score was now 4:1. During a goal attempt by Rumsey, Dylan blocked the shot with his head. Later, Rashad would also save a goal with his head. Sam then scored another goal and that ended the game. The final score was 5:1 Foote. Go Falcons.
